11 naked motorcycles will arrive in 2020
The fashion of naked motorcycles continues to gain public and manufacturers know this, so each time they come up with new proposals or, at least, they adapt those with the latest in engines or technology.
The imminent arrival of Euro5 emissions regulations has partly motivated the revision of some of these models with half-naked bodies, but there are also major releases. For those who want to change frames, start in the wonderful world of two wheels or know what is about to come in the nude industry of the motorcycle industry, here are the 11 best naked motorcycles we will see in 2020 …
Ducati Streetfighter V4
One of the most anticipated bikes in the category is undoubtedly the Ducati Streetfighter V4, a hypernaked based on the spectacular Ducati Panigale V4, with which it shares, among other things, the heart of the four-cylinder ‘V’ at 90º. The 1103 cc Desmosedici block offers a performance of 208 hp and 123 Nm of maximum torque, which will easily move a weight of just 180 kg when empty.
This sport without fairing maintains the essence of those of Borno Panigale, offering in the market a mount that few can face in the competition and that the most daring will be able to adorn with high-performance extras, such as the Akrapovic slip exhaust system -on, capable of raising the power to 216 or 220 CV and lightening the weight of the set, in which we find a fuel tank with a capacity of 16 liters.
BMW F 900 R
War of the half-naked motorcycles has this year a new competitor of German genes, the BMW F 900 R. The manufacturer has intelligently taken advantage of the experience and work they did with the BMW F 850 GS and F 750 GS, using the twin cylinder block of these trails but with the necessary adjustments to offer a more refined and less vibrating result.
One of the most notable improvements is the performance increase that the 853 cc block has benefited from, which in the F 900 R offers 105 hp and 92 Nm of maximum torque, when the F 850 GS remains at 95 hp. Precisely, the latter will be the maximum number that the limited versions of the A2 driving license render, once the legal maximum 47 CV for this type of biker has been exceeded.
The natural substitute for the BMW F 800 R can also boast of having improved its already good performance, since the 211 kg in running order are seen agile, without being a particularly lightweight motorcycle.
Harley-Davidson Bronx
If in the special of the bikes of the trail segment that arrive in 2020 we saw the North American brand enter a completely new segment for the first time, the same can be said with the Harley-Davidson Bronx, the naked motorcycles of the house of Milwaukee.
It is as strange to see Harley-Davidson in that category as it was with LiveWire, which has been its first electric motorcycle, but we cannot doubt the great efforts the manufacturer is making to trace sales.
Like the Pan America, the Bronx will start production later this year and both will share the V-Twin liquid cooling block called Revolution Max, although the naked with a slightly smaller cubic capacity, 975 cc. From this propeller a performance of 115 CV and a torque of 95 Nm are obtained.
The streetfighter has not exactly chosen an easy segment but it will be an interesting rival in the premium section. We will have to wait a little longer to know the final price and release date.
Yamaha MT-03
Between the popular naked motorcycles Yamaha MT-07 and the small Yamaha MT-125, the Yamaha MT-03 sneaks in the middle, a bike that largely borrows the image of the 125cc frame but with a complete facelift and higher perceived quality.
For example, we find the same attractive 100% digital LCD screen, but the full LED turn signals, the knobs on the controls and the rear-view mirrors are new.
Beneath the 14-liter capacity reservoir is the 321 cc parallel two-cylinder engine, the same as that used by the sporty Yamaha YZF-R3. It homologates 42 CV of power and 29.6 Nm of maximum torque for a weight on the scale of 168 kg with everything ready to go.
From Japan will arrive the Kawasaki Z H2 with 200 CV and a price as high as expectations. The Japanese brand has created a monster based on the platform of its most radical products and the 200 hp super charged engine from the versions prior to 2018.
This is how they have developed the Kawasaki Z H2, which inherits the structure of the other sports in the catalog with the ‘H2’ seal to catch up with the segment’s bikes such as the Ducati Streetfighter V4 itself.
The ‘one liter’ four-cylinder engine will handle an estimated weight of 239 kg when unladen, supported by a multitubular steel-finished chassis that will help to keep stable all the technological systems that will include this authentic beast devoid of fairing, such as traction control, cornering ABS, anti-wheelie, bidirectional quickshifter or IMU inertial measurement platform provided by Bosch.
Kawasaki Z900 and Z650
The manufacturer of Iwata also bursts into 2020 with other slightly less radical wide-handlebar bikes and for all audiences. On the one hand, the revised Kawasaki Z900, a frame that has had a great commercial reception and, as an alternative, the Kawasaki Z650, with practically half the power and somewhat more accessible in economic terms.
In both cases, they have been concerned with updating the engines to the Euro5 standard and can be limited to drive them with the A2 license. In the case of the Z900, which has a four-cylinder engine with 948 cc and a power of 125 hp, what they do is offer you a version with a maximum of 95 hp as standard, which allows you to enter the legal conditions for limit it and deliver half of these with the cap on. The weight that marks empty in any case is 210 kg.
The Kawasaki Z650 makes use of the well-known 649 cc twin-cylinder engine that delivers 68 hp, so in this case it is enough to limit the conventional version for those who want to drive it with the A2 license. For this set, the scale marks 187 kg with all the dry tanks.
KTM 890 Duke R and 1290 Super Duke R
In addition to the trail proposals that we could see at EICMA 2019, KTM also attended with an important advance of bare-bodied motorcycles. Far from being a simple improvement on the naked media model they already had, the 790, the Austrians have opted for a new product that uses some inherited components as a base but with substantial changes that allow a level rise.
The KTM 890 Duke R was born with a cycle part and an electronic section practically of new invoice, the same that happens with the engine block, an LC8c that has been almost completely rebuilt from the parallel two-cylinder unit that mounts the KTM 790 Duke, now cubing 890 cc.
In this way, it has managed to raise the propeller to a power of 121 hp and 99 Nm of maximum torque, reducing the set by 3 kg and marking 166 kg dry on the scale. Furthermore equips a brake system high performance four – piston calipers Stylema signed by Brembo, a similar configuration to the KTM 1290 Super Duke R.
Precisely, the restyling of the 1290 Super Duke R was also present at the Italian event, an updated motorcycle in terms of the chassis, electronics and management of the 1,301 cc twin-cylinder engine, which again delivers 180 HP and 140 Nm of torque.
A strict diet has allowed this hypernaked to lose 6 kg compared to the one presented in 2017 and now empty marks a total of 189 kg.
Benelli Leoncino 800
The Benelli family welcomes you this year to a new model that comes in two versions, one with trail aspirations and another more asphalt and with bodywork without fairing, the Benelli Leoncino 800 naked motorcycles, which can be limited for the enjoyment and enjoyment of those who possess the A2 card.
This motorcycle takes advantage of the pull of the good reception in the market of the neo-retro airs and is placed in the manufacturer’s catalog of Pesaro as the most powerful mount. The propulsion is based on the two-cylinder in-line block of the Benelli 752S, which cubes 754 cc and now yields 81.6 hp and 67 Nm of maximum torque, that is, a pair similar to its sister but with an Extra power of almost 5 CV.
The new ‘two wheels’ from Benelli debuts the digital dashboard, the headlight with LEDs, the exit of the exhaust system and the number plate holder, all these new elements that we cannot find in the Leoncino 250 and 500 The tank of this motorcycle has a capacity of 15 liters and its weight is 220 kg in running order.
Everything points to its commercialization-taking place from the second half of 2020, possibly during the month of November.
Ducati Scrambler 1100 Pro and Sport Pro
Even with the last name Scrambler, these two new Ducati alternatives devoid of fairing can fit perfectly in this selection of naked motorcycles that arrive in 2020.
The Ducati Scrambler 1100 Pro and its other Sport Pro version refine its most capable family design by adding a slightly more neo- retro aesthetic, unlike the rest, like the conventional Ducati Scrambler 1100, with slightly more classic touches.
These two new flavors of the Borno Panigale mount the engine of the house with two cylinders in ‘L’ of 1079 cc and that homologates a total of 86 HP and a torque of 88 Nm. The block will move a dry weight of 189 kg.
In the case of the Ducati Scrambler 1100 Pro it will be available in the Ocean Drive multicolour shade, while the Ducati Scrambler 1100 Sport Pro will be painted in ‘Matt Black’. The manufacturer will offer us the prices of these motorcycles from March, the date scheduled for launch.
MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RR
We knew that in MV Agusta they would not sit idly by at EICMA 2019 and they ended up presenting the incredible MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RR, a somewhat more ‘economical’ version than the Gold Series on which it is based.
This ‘device’ has come off some very expensive components of the limited edition, such as carbon fiber rims, replaced by ones finished in aluminum. Of course, it keeps the four-cylinder propeller in line with the relevant adjustments and puts the biker in command of 208 hp and 115.5 Nm, which for those who know it by little can be raised to 212 hp with the exhaust system SC Project that, of course, does not come standard.
After all, on the scale it only penalizes 2 kg more than the MV Agusta Brutale 1000 Gold Series, scoring 186 kg dry. The Kawasaki Z H2 and Ducati Streetfighter V4 have come out with a very expensive rival.
Triumph Street Triple R
The Triumph Street Triple R has put the batteries to reinforce the middle part of the roadster catalog of the British firm, which has previously done the same with the Triumph Street Triple RS and the Street Triple S, the most capable and suitable for the naked motorcycles respectively.
Taking the aggressive styling of the RS as a reference, the new Street Triple R has been unveiled at dealerships with a modern 765 cc three-cylinder engine true to Euro5 constraints and drawing 118 bhp and 77 Nm of torque. Thanks to the two-way Triumph Shift Assist system that comes from the factory, it is possible to make changes quickly without activating the hand clutch.
This complete motorcycle weighs 168 kg when empty and has ‘Road’, ‘Sport’ and ‘Rain’ driving modes, traction control, electronic throttle and ABS.
